Turnford’s U14 squad travelled to The Jean Brown Arena, Redbridge  Sports Centre, Essex, to take part in the National U14 finals.
The process of reaching this far had seen this very talented squad win the Hertfordshire area round last October putting them through  to the Regional rounds in March, which they comfortably won and  this allowed them to represent The East of England at the National  Championships .
The tournament was played over two days. Saturday / Sunday . The  National Clubs U14 Finals consists of 18 teams, a winner and runner- up from each of the 9 England Netball regions They  were placed in  three groups of six. The matches were played  with 4 x 7 minute  quarters.  From  Turnford’s  first match on the Saturday  it could be seen from the offset that these skilful Turnford youngsters would do well.  Their  first match was played against the strong Northern side of Tameside but with focus and polished play Turnford took the game 28:16.
Next up was Futureprint from the East Midlands but again they proved no hardship for this talented side and all 11 squad members took to the court - showing the strength and depth of  this accomplished side  and Turnford took this game 36:10.  The  afternoon saw Turnford pitched against Woodley from the South, but with superb play throughout Turnford won 25:11.  The final game of he afternoon was against Kent Club from London & South East and  although Turnford made hard work of it they took the match 15:10.  This run of wins at the end of the first day, put Turnford in the  top six in England  leaving Sunday  to show just how masterful they  were . And masterful they were. The first match was against Poole  from the South West.  These two sides always had close encounters  but this was to be Turnford’s day and with grit and determination
Turnford won 22:18. This put them in the position of  playing for third/fourth place. Turnford could see the silverware in their grasp and were eager it should not slip away and digging deep for  every ball Turnford beat Leeds Athletic from Humberside 31:19.
THE FINALS  Turnford had made it.  Oh what excitement - they were  playing against Oldham for the final honours.  At the end of the first half Oldham were leading 16:13.  This match could have been  either sides glory . It was far from plain sailing for the eventual champions though and they were pushed all the way in the final by a  fluent Turnford side who were eventually defeated 23-21.Coach Carole Titmuss said how delighted she was with the maturity of the squad and how proud she was of their achievement.
Squad members:-
Georgina Fisher (captain), Jasmine Bowman, Georgia Satwick, Sophie
Dingle, Izzy Stibbs, Rebecca Palmer, Abi Berry, Esme Scot Hewitt,
