Turnford’s U14 squad travelled to The Jean Brown Arena, Redbridge Sports Centre, Essex, to take part in the National U14 finals.
The process of reaching this far had seen this very talented squad win the Hertfordshire area round last October putting them through to the Regional rounds in March, which they comfortably won and this allowed them to represent The East of England at the National Championships.
The tournament was played over two days. Saturday / Sunday . The National Clubs U14 Finals consists of 18 teams, a winner and runner- up from each of the 9 England Netball regions They were placed in three groups of six. The matches were played with 4 x 7 minute quarters. From Turnford’s first match on the Saturday it could be seen from the offset that these skilful Turnford youngsters would do well. Their first match was played against the strong Northern side of Tameside but with focus and polished play Turnford took the game 28:16.
Next up was Futureprint from the East Midlands but again they proved no hardship for this talented side and all 11 squad members took to the court - showing the strength and depth of this accomplished side and Turnford took this game 36:10.
