England vs South Africa - ON SALE NOW!
England Netball is delighted to announce that tickets for the upcoming International Series against South Africa are now on sale. The three match contest takes place towards the end of September as the team head to Bath, London and Worcester.
The opening match will take place at the University of Bath on Sunday 22nd September with centre-pass scheduled for 1:30pm. Anna Mayes’ side will be looking to start the Series in the South-West by matching the opening win they secured in the last home international series against Australia.
Three days later the action heads to London and Wembley Arena. England have a great record at the venue and will be hoping to emulate previous excellent results in front of a packed out arena in the nation’s capital.
A final stop off in Worcester brings the Series to a conclusion on Friday 27th September. Having enjoyed a fantastic Netball Superleague Grand Final in the West Midlands, it has been decided to take last match back to brand new University Arena.
Our opponents for the three matches are currently 6th in the official INF world rankings and finished 5th at the last World Championships in 2011 when they defeated Malawi 52-50. The Proteas have a strong background in the sport and can lay claim to having started the career of one of the most famous faces in the sport, Irene van Dyk. The legendary shooter made 72 appearances for the country of her birth before switching allegiance to New Zealand. There have been encouraging recent signs for the South Africans, as they claimed a first win over Jamaica in 28 years last summer and the threat they pose should not be underestimated as England look to continue their unbeaten home record in 2013.
